16岁的奥比-马丁即将离开阿森纳青训营，本周早些时候，他参观了曼联训练基地，消息称，曼联是追求他的多支球队之一。

曼晚了解到，曼联有信心完成这笔交易，如果球员拒绝拜仁和纽卡等球队的邀请并决定加盟红魔，那么奥比-马丁将获得曼联提供的奖学金，并签署职业合同。

上赛季，奥比-马丁代表阿森纳U18梯队在17场联赛中打进29球，他被认为是青年足坛最有前途的球员之一。
